       Today I visited the Palais Garnier Opera house. Looking at the outside, I saw big, gold statues on the roof of the grand building. This caught my eye as the gold looked shiny and new, contrasting the old structure of the building. I wondered if that gold is original, cleaned regularly, or new. Inside there were several marble staircases. There was a grand, second set staircase inside that led 2 ways up into the upper levels. The room was absolutely beautiful. It had painted ceilings, chandeliers, lights, and flower marble engravings. Different rooms included paintings, chairs, and wall mirrors. My favorite room included a huge painting on the ceiling.      In addition, the architectural magnificence, historical relevance, and cultural influence of the Palais Garnier Opera house are of significant importance.  First, it was created by Charles Garnier and opened in 1875, representing the wealth and passion of the Belle Époque period in Paris.
